THANKSGIVING TURKEY TIME

The Cunninghams from 'Happy Days' pose for a highly-retouched 1983 Thanksgiving photo. Left to right are Erin Moran, Scott Baio, Tom Bosley, Henry Winkler, Marian Ross, Steven Shortridge and Anson Williams. What? No Ralph Malph? (c) ABC

‘Holiday Art’ has long been a staple of the entertainment world. Gathering a show’s cast together for Christmas, Halloween and other seasonal photos is about as corny a publicity gimmick as you can get.

Thanksgiving was certainly no exception! I’ve reached into the vault to pull out  a batch of rare Turkey Day stills culled from TV and movies. Although the big bird won’t be ready for another week, go ahead and enjoy these treats NOW!

AVAILABLE SOON! Sam Maronie: Tripping through Pop-Culture, a new book by Blogmeister Sam is almost ready to order. Stay tuned for more details. #trippingthroughpopculture

'AfterMASH' was a short-lived series that hoped to pick up where the original MASH left off. Despite a great cast, it was a tremendous flop. Here the main stars pose for a Turkey Day photo. (l-r) Barbara Townsend, Harry Morgan, William Christopher, Jamie Farr and Rosalind Chao. (c) CBS

The Hardy Family was a series of MGM films in the 1940s that featured the adventures of a 'typical' Middle-American family. The series featured Mickey Rooney, but was abetted by some of the industry's greatest character actors. Fay Holden (l) portrayed stalwart Ma Hardy; (c) Sara Haden was eternal spinster Aunty Milly; holding the bird was one of filmdon's greatest actors, Lewis Stone. Stone's incredible career extended back to the silent era, and was a contract player at Metro for some 30 years! He acted with everyone from Garbo to Harlow. (c) MGM
