This autographed still is unidentified, but methinks it is probably from one of his 'El Hombre Lobo' series of films.

Only die-hard horror movie fans will recognize the name of actor Paul Naschy (1934-2009). But this Spanish filmmaker has produced, directed, written and starred in literally dozens of foreign terror films.

For decades, Naschy presented his take on all the classic monster icons, appearing in versions of the Frankenstein Monster, Dracula, the Mummy, and others. He specialized in portraying ‘El Hombre Lobo’ (the Werewolf) in over a dozen films. He turned out monster films at a prodigious rate, appearing in as many as seven films a year.

Naschy is sporting some bodacious incissors in this photo. At one time or another in his career he portrayed The Mummy, Count Dracula, Frankenstein, the Hunchback and dozens of other creepy people.

An incredibly talented man, Naschy had a successful fling as a designer, pulp writer and comic-book artist before he even thought to enter the world of movie-making. He had enough careers for a dozen men.

I had the great pleasure of meeting him in 2000 at a film convention on the east coast. He and his family barely spoke English but seemed to enjoy all the attention he received from his fans. He was the type of horror star that we don’t have any more.

This 2000 photo depicts the Naschy clan at a horror film convention held on the East coast. i'm not sure they understood everything that was said to them that weekend, but i know they appreciated all the love directed their way.
