We caught up with make-up wizard Rashaad Santiago recently at the Indy PopCon held  in Indianapolis, Indiana (#indypopcon).

Santiago, as many of you know, was the Season Six winner of the Syfy Channel’s popular reality challenge, Face Off. FO is part game show/part reality series, where aspiring cosmetic technicians labor to change humans into a variety of ghouls, goblins, mutants and other sundry personages.  The contestants are judged for their skill working under pressure with limited resources, as well as providing heaping helpings of behind-the-scenes drama.

“I was working in fast-food when Face Off called me to audition,” the 25 year-old Bronx native explained. “I had been trying to get on the show for a long time, when they finally called me in.” Rashaad left his gig at a porcelain palace and travelled to Hollywood to interview for the series.

Rashaad made the cut and found himself a contestant on Season Six. He survived the brutal challenges and the criticism of experts in the movie industry. He ultimately was last man standing and walked off as the big winner.
